Some universities in the United States offer scholarships to undergraduate students. One of their requirements is either TOEFL or SAT. These two tests are barriers for many students from Cambodia when applying for scholarships to study in the United States, particularly students from the under-privileged community.
Therefore, to make higher education in the United States accessible for students from this community, EducationUSA has created a special program under the Opportunity Fund.
The program aims to empowering high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds to access higher education in the United States. The program will prepare students to gain high English proficiency, and other necessary skills and knowledge in order to be qualified for U.S. college admission and scholarship eligibility requirements.
The program activities including, English, TOEFL, & SAT training, a reading club, a series of workshops on various topics related to leadership, American culture and education.
