Our aim is to train and develop highly dedicated, highly skilled, and socially committed media professionals and communications specialists who will contribute to the development, enrichment, and understanding of Cambodian society and culture, as well as that of the surrounding region and the world at large.
We strongly believe in combining classroom work with “real life, practical experience. All undergraduate majors are required to complete a professional internship in a media-related field during their final term.
Why Study Media & Communication?
Some things to consider:
- Currently, there is a great need in Cambodia for qualified Communications and Media Specialists.
- Many employers in Cambodia are now actively looking for qualified students in the Communications field.
- Many newspapers, magazines, TV stations, and radio stations need qualified writers, reporters, producers, editors, and support staff.
- Many companies need people with knowledge and skills in advertising, public relations, sales/ promotions, and marketing.
- With about 800 organizations (NGOs) registered with the government, communications jobs are expected to rise above the average level.
- The government often hires press officers to respond to media inquiries and many NGOs, embassies, trade unions, and schools also seek qualified public relations officers to serve as spokespersons.
Our majors provide excellent preparation for careers in:

- Sales and Promotion / Advertising
- Public Sector/Government / NGOs
- Peace Building / Community Development
- Social Affairs
And, in any fields where writing well, speaking well, solving problems, and working with diverse groups of people are necessary skills.

About the program
The Master’s program is Media Management aims to train and develop dedicated and highly skilled media managers. The program is designed to foster critical thinking, and to develop the theoretical and practical skills necessary in today’s highly competitive media market.
Courses
Coursework for the M.A. in Media Management focuses on giving the student the analytical skills necessary to be a part of the decision making process in the communications industry or in the governmental / public / NGO sectors. All coursework in the program is conducted in English, which further strengthens the student’s capacity to work effectively as managers in the new international media environment.
Students will study such diverse subjects as methods of communication, media law and ethics, public affairs, finance, marketing, promotion, and human resource functions, which provides a well rounded preparation for a variety of management careers in the mass media.
Since the communications industry is a people oriented enterprise, special emphasis is placed on its collaborative nature and the need to understand how human beings function in the creative arena.
